Artá is a very beautiful, historical village with about 6.000 inhabitants in the northeast of Mallorca.

The village stretches up a hill, on which the baroque pilgrimage church Sant Salvador with an
impressive fortress wall towers over the roofs of the town.

The narrow and sometimes steep streets lead from the marketplace up to the church. In the alleys and pedestrian zone are a variety of small stores, restaurants and cafes.

The weekly market with fresh local produce is held in the market square every Tuesday. From the old train station runs the old railroad line, which becomes a walking, running and
bicycle route, the Via Verde.

This beautiful route leads through the countryside over Son Severra, Son Carrió and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar on more than 30 kilometers to Manacor.

Directly behind the village the nature park Llevant extends to the sea and offers with some smaller mountains great possibilities for hiking. Various beaches in different directions can be reached in less than 15 minutes.
