LOCATION

Felanitx is about 50 km east of Palma and belongs to the Pla & Llevant region of Mallorca.

The hill Puig de San Salvador is located in the municipality of Felanitx. The monastery of San Salvador, with its historic viewpoint, dates from 1348, while within the town the imposing church of San Miguel dates from the 16th century. The harbour town of Portocolom deserves special mention.

The popular artist Miquel Barceló was born in Felanitx.

The dry red wine Anima Negra and 12 Volt are among the best-known and most popular wines of the sunny island, and they were also born here in Felanitx. The town is also known for its caper cultivation.

To get to know its inhabitants better, there is a weekly market every Wednesday between 9.00 am and 1.30 pm. The popular town of Santanyi, the beautiful bays of the southeast, the natural beach Es Trenc and several harbours are only a few minutes away by car.
